The Melon

If you see a water melon that is slightly bigger than an apple, it's the scientists that are playing with the melon genes. Just when you expected them to re-engineer the melon to the size of a Mini Cooper, they have shrinked it to the size of an egg!

They have succeeded in going seedless and in different stripes and colors, so growing it smaller would seem the next logical step. I can only speculate the reason for shrinking it would be to fit the supermarket plastic bag.
